Chiropractic Evaluation
On your first office
visit, Dr. Blackford will complete a health history, physical
examination, and, in some cases, x-rays, to determine if your condition
can benefit from chiropractic care.

Health History:
Dr. Blackford will take your health
history, which may include questions about your physical activities, diet,
and back habits. You may also be asked about any previous injuries and
treatment you have had. Feel free to ask the doctor any questions
you have about your condition.
Physical Examination:
A physical examination can determine
your general physical condition and spinal alignment. Local areas of musculoskeletal
tenderness, muscle spasms and stiffness, and decreased range of motion
of back and other joints can also be evaluated.
X-Rays:
In order to see the bony relationships of
your spine and to determine the appropriate spinal adjustments, x-rays
are often required. They offer a "blueprint", or outline, of
specific problems, including subluxations, or misalignments
of spinal joints. They also rule out tumors, fractures, and other conditions.
Once a specific diagnosis is made, Dr. Blackford can
begin an individualized treatment program to reduce pain, relieve muscle
spasm, and realign the delicate structures of your back. Understanding
the importance of good back hygiene in maintaining back health and overall
wellness can help prevent further problems. You may be asked to come
back on a regular basis to observe your progress.
