Years of back abuse - such as poor posture,
improper lifting, and lack of body conditioning - make
the back prone to injury. The lower back is
particularly vulnerable; its major weight-bearing
joints can be pushed out of alignment with painful
results. Other pain-sensitive structures can be
stretched, torn, and distorted. Using spinal
adjustments (a form of manipulation) and other
techniques, your doctor of chiropractic can treat many
of the common low back problems. Read about the causes
and cures of back problems here. |
From
stiffness to aches - pains in the neck are all too
common. No wonder - your neck is prone to injury from
poor posture, years of abuse, wear and tear, even
stress. Joints can be pushed out of alignment, and
other structures can be stretched, distorted, or torn.
Using unique hands-on treatments (spinal adjustments
and soft tissue manipulation), your Doctor of
Chiropractic can treat stiffness and instability, as
well as joint, nerve, and other neck problems. Read
how your Chiropractor can help the problems in your
neck here. |

When your shoulder is painful and stiff, you
quickly realize how much you depend on this most
flexible and mobile of joints for daily task. Your
chiropractic physician can evaluate and treat your
shoulder. You can help, too, with the program of home
care and exercise to keep your shoulder moving safely.
Your chiropractor can help determine which shoulder
problem you have and help solve the problem. Read
about it here. |
Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is a common and
troublesome condition that interferes with the use of
the hand. It is caused when too much pressure is put
on a nerve that runs through your wrist. A variety of
anatomical abnormalities may be responsible for this
vise-like pressure. Once symptoms of pain and tingling
appear, the condition frequently worsens and permanent
nerve damage may occur. However, CTS is highly
treatable if diagnosed early. Read about Carpal Tunnel
here. |

Whiplash is a powerful force. Like the sudden,
sharp snap of a whip, it hurls your head backwards
(hyperextension) and forward (hyper flexion), injuring
your neck. Chiropractors are spine specialists
uniquely trained to diagnose and treat whiplash,
relieve its symptoms, and help prevent more serious
injuries from developing. Read about it

Headaches are a distress signal, your body telling
you something's out of balance. Pain relievers may
temporarily turn off the alarm switch, but usually
don't put out the fire. Your chiropractor, however,
can diagnose your type of headache - often tension or
migraine - treat its underlying physical causes, and
help you learn how to prevent headaches in the future.

Osteoporosis is a preventable condition that all
women need to be concerned about. It is the "weak
bones" condition that many women develop after
menopause. It is characterized by a thinning of the
bones that leaves them fragile and overly susceptible
to fractures. Fortunately, there are choices you can
make throughout life to build and preserve your bone
mass and prevent osteoporosis. Read about it
